Pat Dooley Memorial Junior Boys Basketball Classic

 Pat
Dooley Web Profile size Pat Dooley was the ball boy for Kwantlen’s Men’s basketball team for two years from 2000 to 2002.

Pat was a very talented athlete who played competitive volleyball, basketball and golf at Elgin Park Secondary School in South Surrey.  In volleyball he won his team MVP award in grade eight and was team captain in grades eight and ten.  In basketball, he was the starting point guard from grade eight to ten.

Like Steve Nash, his basketball hero, Pat was a selfless distributor of the ball to his fellow teammates. Pat’s success in volleyball and basketball notwithstanding, Pat’s true sport passion was golf.  Pat spent long hours on the driving range, in practice sessions with his coach, and playing rounds on a variety of courses in the Lower Mainland.  Pat was a member at Mayfair Lakes in Richmond where is low round was a one under par 70.  His lowest competitive round was a three under par 69 at Hazlemere Golf Club in South Surrey.

When he finished high school, Pat was looking forward to pursuing golf related scholarship opportunities with the ultimate goal being a career in a golf related profession.

Pat passed away on February 5th, 2008 after a short illness.

In honour of Pat, the Kwantlen Eagles Men's basketball team hosts an annual high school junior boys basketball classic each December.
