Kwantlen Eagles, Game Day Event Staff

Part-time Positions (12)

Kwantlen Polytechnic University has a number of positions available for Kwantlen students and enthusiasts to work with the Supervisor of Events and Facilities on the Game Day Event Staff. This position is part time and is paid an honorarium twice throughout the athletic season. Although not required as training will be provided, the ideal candidates will have knowledge in sporting events, including knowledge of the rules of basketball and/or soccer, the ability to learn on the job as well as proven commitment to a team environment. All Kwantlen home games are hosted in Surrey. The requirements of this position will include working evenings and weekends as well as the opportunity for additional work within the Athletics Department. The positions that will be offered are:

Athletic Trainers needed - Kwantlen Polytechnic University Eagles Soccer

Part-time Positions (2)

  • Women’s Soccer
  • Men’s Soccer

Kwantlen Polytechnic University has two openings for certified athletic trainers or sports aiders to work with the men’s or women’s soccer team for the 2010-2011 British Columbia Colleges Athletic Association (BCCAA) season.

Under the direction of the head coach, the athletic trainer will provide on-site first aid and taping support for athletic injuries during the pre-season, regular season and post-season practices for varsity athletes. Candidates must demonstrate a high calibre of leadership and sportsmanship; be able to work in a team environment and demonstrate superior organization and communication skills. Experience working with a team is preferred but not essential.

Overview

  • Season: Sept – Nov 2010 [pre-season August]
  • BCCAA League Games: Saturday, Sunday
  • Practices are held on: Tues, Wed, Thurs
  • Commitment: 1-2 practices per week and weekend games (Sat, Sun)*
  • Kwantlen Eagles Athletics will provide first aid and taping supplies
  • *Some weekend travel within BC is required

    Qualifications Required
  • Sport First Aid (including CPR)
  • Athletic Taping Certificate
  • Class 4 British Columbia driver's license

Each position is paid a $500 honorarium.

Student Assistants

Do you have experience playing team or individual sports? We are looking for student assistants to work part time at the Athletics and Recreation front desk.  Responsibilities include: supervision and maintenance of the fitness centre and gymnasium, setting up sports equipment (can be heavy), lending out equipment such as basketballs, washing and folding laundry (towels and athlete uniforms) and taking payments for recreation programs.
