Co-op Program in Marketing Management
Entry Requirements
Co-op admission is optional/selective. Students wishing to choose the Co-op option must enroll in COOP 1101 in conjunction with their first academic term courses. Prerequisites for the first co-op work term (COOP 1110) are permission of the instructor as well as the completion of first year courses with a minimum 3.00 grade point average.

Marketing Co-op Employment
Marketing Co-op students are employed by the federal and provincial governments, municipalities, private businesses, and non-profit organizations in roles such as:
- Special Projects officers, producing such projects as marketing plans, feasibility studies, market research surveys, competitive studies, promotional plans, database marketing plans, sales lead generation plans, and advertising programs;
- Sales Support representatives, helping with brochure co-ordination, sales lead generation and qualifying, initiating publicity campaigns
- Marketing Assistants
- Customer Service Representatives
- Research Analysts
Workterms are found in the lower mainland - from Abbotsford to Port Coquitlam to North Vancouver to Richmond - and occasionally even out of town postings from other areas of BC.
Generally, Marketing students work Monday to Friday during regular business hours. A first year student can make between $10.25 and $12 per hour. A second year student can make between $10 and $18 per hour. Students have made less and some have made more - it's not fixed.
