Scholarships, Awards, and Bursaries

Scholarships, awards and bursaries are time-honoured ways of celebrating student success.
An award can be set up in one of two ways:

  • Establish an endowment fund – For a minimum gift of $20,000, a donor can establish an award that will continue in perpetuity. The annual interest generated from the endowment is used to fund the award, so the initial donation is never depleted. Gifts are payable over a period of up to 5 years.
  • Annual Named Award – An annual gift from a donor is given to a student recipient meeting the award criteria. A minimum commitment of $1,000 for 5 years is requested. The award continues as long as the donor continues to fund the award.

Whether an award is set up through an endowment fund, or funded annually, it can be named in honour of a family member, community leader, notable event, or the professional or community group making the donation. A donor can also choose a number of criteria for selecting the student, from their area of study, year of study, community and volunteer service, etc.

You can create your own named award, donate to Kwantlen's general scholarship endowment or to one of the following program endowments:

Scholarships and awards are presented at annual ceremonies where students are honoured for their success and donors are recognized for their generosity. The events provide an excellent opportunity for donors to meet the beneficiary of their gift.
