Dean's Welcome
Welcome to the Faculty of Community & Health Studies (CAHS) at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU). I recently joined this dynamic community as the Faculty's new dean. What attracted me to KPU, and the Faculty of CAHS in particular, is health and education programming that promotes both quality and innovation.
The Faculty of CAHS makes significant contributions to health and community related programming, provincially, nationally and internationally. As Kwantlen transitions to a polytechnic university, the Faculty of CAHS continues a tradition of educating professionals who improve the lives of
the clients and populations they serve. We continue to explore curricular and financial opportunities related to existing
and/or new programs and also strive to enhance our partnerships with employers to better meet their needs, the needs
of our learners and those of the clients you serve.
Kwantlen thrives on and benefits from the diversity of our learners, faculty members, staff and the communities in
which we work. Our campuses are dynamic academic environments that assist learners to successfully expand their
knowledge, skills and abilities, while touching the lives of people from all age groups and cultural backgrounds. In
September, 2012, the Faculty of CAHS is moving to the Langley campus. This renovated space will house all learners
in one space and provide access to the latest in technological and educational resources.
The Faculty of CAHS mission is to foster student success and contribution in local, national and international
communities as transformational leaders in health and education through quality programming, service and scholarship.
As you begin or continue your academic path in the Faculty of CAHS, we see you as future leaders who will ultimately
change the face of the communities where you live and work.
