How can I incorporate Library resources into my Course Websites?
The Library has many online resources that you can link to in your course web sites such as linking to full text of articles, or title pages of journals, or specific books in our library catalogue, or subject searches within our research databases, or our chat reference service Qwidget so your students have online access to a Research Librarian directly from your Moodle site. How can I access the Kwantlen Collection?
Our Borrowing Services page covers access to our collections in depth including information on library cards, loan periods and placing material on reserve.
- Search our Catalogue to find books, videos, and also to view your reserve material listings.
- You can renew material from home once you are in our catalogue.
- We have over 95 Article indexes - many contain full text articles. You can access our indexes remotely. Our remote access help sheet provides information on how to successfully connect remotely.
- Use the Liaison Librarian link to find the librarian responsible for your subject area directly
- Find out where our journals are located by searching our Journal titles database.
- Our Resources by Subject contain sites evaluated by Librarians. We monitor the sites for broken links and continually update them. We are happy to take any suggestions from you to add to the subject guide for your area.

Can the Library help me with Copyright issues?
Copyright of print, audiovisual and digital material is a serious issue for you to consider when delivering your courses. While the Library cannot obtain copyright for you, we have brought together some of the more important information in our guides below. How Can I place Items on Reserve for my courses?
There are several ways to place items on reserve. Choose the best method for you from our Course Reserves options.
How Can I Access Collections from other Institutions?
- Place an Interlibrary Loan and we'll bring the item to you, or
- Get an affiliate card at other Research libraries and get the item yourself. Find out how at our Borrowing material from Other Institutions Guide.
How Can I use equipment from the library in my Classroom?

How Can research assistants obtain Library privileges?
Come to the library, identify yourself as a research assistant to library staff and they will issue you a library card. This will allow you to borrow books, videos, and dvd's, and to submit interlibrary loans.
To enable remote access to Library subscription research databases, you must have the faculty member you work for issue a request for a netware account with IET through their Service Desk (604.599.2116).
