Kwantlen re-elects board chair and elects vice chair

At a regular meeting of Kwantlen University College's Board of Governors, the members re-elected Arvinder Bubber as chair; and Kathleen Casprowitz was elected as vice chair.

Arvinder Bubber was appointed to the Board on October 18, 2001. He is a chartered accountant with his own firm, A.S. Bubber, Chartered Accountant, in Surrey. He is the former director of the revenue and fiscal services department and manager of the internal audit department for the City of Regina. Bubber is a member of the Surrey Chamber of Commerce, as well as a member of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.

Kathleen Casprowitz is owner and CEO of 13 Sylvan Learning Centre franchises, which provide personalized instructional services to students of all ages and skill levels. Casprowoitz is a former member of the Bachelor of Business Administration Steering Committee at Kwantlen University College, and served on the Education Business Partnership Advisory council and the Community and School Partnership Council, both in Surrey school district. She is past president of the Surrey Chamber of Commerce.

The Board of Governors thanks Tana Plewes, outgoing vice chair, expressing their appreciation for her leadership as vice chair for the past two years. Tana was appointed to the Board on October 18, 2001.

Kwantlen University College's mission is to create quality, life-long learning opportunities for people to achieve personal, social and career success. Kwantlen became a university college with degree granting status in 1995; and has a mandate to develop and offer baccalaureate degrees that will prepare students for career success through quality education.
