October 20, 2008Kwantlen APPD job placement specialist honoured with "Excellence in Community Partnership" award
(SURREY, B.C.) Lynn Kettridge, a job placement specialist for Access Program for People with Disabilities (APPD) at Kwantlen Polytechnic University has been honoured with the Excellence in Community Partnership award from B.C. Centre for Ability. Kettridge works in an one-on-one capacity with individuals with disabilities on various job search needs and will often supply coaching assistance, and direct marketing to potential employers. The Excellence in Community Partnership award was created in 2006 by the B.C. Centre for Ability to recognize its many community partners who display exemplary commitment to building partnerships in support of individuals with disabilities. This award recognizes Kettridge's outstanding commitment and service in assisting clients to find long term, gainful employment.
The goal of Kwantlen's APPD program is to provide post-secondary education for adults with various disabilities. This program helps students enhance their independence and employability skills.
