Kwantlen honours Richmond graduate with President’s Outstanding Graduate Award

(METRO VANCOUVER, B.C.) Kristen Lambke, Diploma of Technology in Environmental Protection graduate and Dean’s Honour Roll recipient, received Kwantlen’s President’s Outstanding Graduate Award at Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s 2009 Convocation ceremony held at its Surrey Campus.

Lambke came to Kwantlen two years ago with a clear goal in mind—to further her knowledge and inspire change in the world. During her time here, Lambke has been recognized on the Dean's Honour Roll six times.

In the classroom, Lambke was described by her faculty as an extraordinary student who not only achieved exceptional academic performance, but also helped fellow classmates by volunteering her time as a peer tutor in the Learning Centre. Outside the classroom, Lambke was actively involved in the Kwantlen community, participating in numerous student clubs and community projects such as “TAP IN,” a campaign aimed at banning bottled water in the City of Surrey.

Reflecting on her university experience at Kwantlen, Lambke acknowledges the faculty who were dedicated to her success.

“I would really like to thank the Kwantlen faculty who gave me support and encouragement throughout my studies. They constantly motivated me to learn by presenting me with challenging lab scenarios, which enabled me to gain valuable skills and knowledge.”

Looking forward, Lambke wishes to apply her Kwantlen education and start a career focusing on improving the environment and creating sustainable practices in the construction industry.

This award encourages Kwantlen students to excel in their chosen fields of study and to participate in university, student and community activities to the benefit of others. Recipients have completed all their study in one program at Kwantlen; have consistently shown outstanding ability in the field; have contributed in a significant way to Kwantlen or community affairs; and may be recommended by faculty.
