The discovery that many pet foods contained melamine, and that melamine was linked to kidney failure in pets, caused alarm among pet owners everywhere. It has now also been found in food for fish farms, which causes even more concern since that would mean that melamine would enter the human food chain too.How toxic is melamine to humans? Not very. It's pretty safe to say that any that we eat will have no effect on us; it has a toxicity level about the same as table salt.
