SPEAKER: Tracy Redies, President and CEO Coast Capital Savings
Tracy joined Coast Capital Savings Credit Union as President & CEO in June 2009. She brings 20-plus-years' experience in the international financial services industry to her leadership role at one of Canada's largest credit unions. Tracy joined Coast Capital Savings to lead the entrepreneurial-styled credit union in its quest to bring innovation to banking in Canada.
She holds a BA with a Double Major in Economics and Asian Studies from the University of Victoria and an MSc in Business Administration in International Trade and Finance from the University of British Columbia.
A four-time recipient of WXN's Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100™ award and recent inductee into the Top 100 Hall of Fame™, Tracy is a past honoree of Business in Vancouver's Influential Women in Business award and received a Distinguished Alumni award from the University of Victoria's Faculty of Social Sciences. She was also recently named 2011 Business Person of the Year by the Surrey Board of Trade.
She is a director of Central 1 Credit Union, The Vancouver Board of Trade, the C.D. Howe Institute, Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation, and CH.I.L.D., a Canadian foundation dedicated to finding a cure for Crohn's, colitis and other liver disorders in children. Tracy is also a member of the Sauder School of Business Faculty Advisory Board.

Through his tireless work, Sam continues to be committed to the betterment of communities. In 2006, he received the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award for leadership and community involvement. His passion is to inspire and motivate others in their personal and professional development through his many adventures and reflections on life's journeys. He considers himself and average guy with extraordinary experiences.
Currently, Sam works for the Faculty of Business at Simon Fraser University as the Manager, Student Engagement and Recruitment. His role is to enhance the business students experience so they complement their degree and make themselves more marketable. He also recently completed his contract with the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Bid Corporation. Sam was the Community Consultation Manager and was responsible for providing public information about the bid and building relationships with the various communities.
Sam completed a nine month leadership program through Leadership Vancouver and in 2002 received the Outstanding Graduate Award. He was a serving member of the Board and the Chair of the Graduate Network Committee. Sam completed his Masters in Leadership Studies at the University of Exeter in England and has a double major in Business Administration and Political Science from SFU. He also has his Human Resources certificate from BCIT and has completed his adult education designation with the Vancouver Community College. He also was a tenor drummer for the BC Regiment Irish Pipes and Drums for almost 10 years. Sam's favorite saying: "Everyone's life is an autobiography, but you have to make yours worth reading!"
CLOSING KEYNOTE - Adam Kreek - "Be a Catalyst for Change"
Olympic Gold Medalist, Canadian Men's Rowing Team
Adam Kreek is a four-time World Champion, Olympic Gold Medalist, Entrepreneur and expert in High Performance.
A self-described "positive realist," Adam has spoken to over 100,000 people across North America on topics of achievement, leadership and teambuilding. He powered his way to a gold medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, after a disappointing loss at the Athens Olympic Games of 2004. During his 13 year rowing career, Adam won over 60 medals, 27 in international competition, with 43 of these being gold medal or first place performances. Adam was named Athlete Leader of the year at the 2010 Canadian Sports Awards, a lifetime achievement award presented to an individual who has provided outstanding contributions to sport as a leader advocate, change agent and builder.
Adam is an Athlete Ambassador for Right to Play, a Big Brother, a board member of the organization Clean Air Champions, and a Play It Cool Athlete Representative with the David Suzuki Foundation and The Climate Project Canada. Adam serves on the Canadian Olympic Committee, where he supports the goal of spreading the benefits of sport across a broader Canadian society, and works closely with Gold Medal Plates, a key organization raising funds for Olympic athletes in Canada. He holds a degree in Geotechnical Engineering and Hydrology from Stanford University.
