Casey Printers

BC Lions Quarterback, businessman, author and speaker

"Leadership: Becoming who you are destined to be"

Wednesday September 22nd
Surrey campus Conference Centre

Presented as part of the Kwantlen 'Get Involved - Give Back Week'

Casey Printers was the 2004 MVP of the Canadian Football League with the BC Lions.  After stints with the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs and the Hamilton Tiger Cats in the CFL, Casey is back with the Lions.
At 13 years old, Casey was crowned a leader by the Oak Cliff Jets football team.  He wowed young and old alike as he led his team to represent Dallas, TX in the National Championship --- and won!  After leaving high school, Casey had a very successful college football career with Texas Christian University and later with Florida A&M University.
From growing up in a single parent home, to making choices that could have curtailed his chances to become a highly recruited NFL quarterback, there is no doubt that Printers experienced setbacks.  But through it all, he promised himself to never give up on pursuing his dream. Casey landed in the CFL as the highest paid quarterback and later in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs as their back-up.  While not attaining marquee status with the Chiefs, Casey still took his role seriously as a member of the Chiefs and the Kansas City community and began to participate as a volunteer in public schools to inspire and encourage young students.
On and off the field, Printers has been an inspiration to many.  His story, however, does not end on the football field -- Casey recently partnered with Glennlock Foods Ltd., and established Frenchy's, a creole restaurant that has become the hometown favourite for millions of customers in the Houston area.
Casey has released his first book, "From High School to the Pros" that serves as a guide for the aspiring student athlete.
