Scholarship

There are several sources of funding available to all Kwantlen students via the Kwantlen Foundations office. Also check for funding available through the Student Educational Enhancement Fund.

There are also research awards available to all Kwantlen students via the Office of Research and Scholarship.

Within Psychology, there are three awards available to Psychology majors. Students do not have to apply for these awards. Instead, the Psychology department nominates students to receive the awards.

(1) The Pearson Scholarship. The Psychology department nominates one student to receive this award each fall term. This is a cash award of $1500, but the amount of the award may change from year to year.

(2) Honours Scholarship. The Psychology department nominates the student entering the Honours program with the highest GPA each May. This is a cash award of approximately $1500, but the amount of the award may change from year to year.

(3) CPA Honours Thesis Award. The Psychology department nominates up to three Honours students each June to receive a certificate of excellence from the Canadian Psychological Association.

Honours Option:
Students interested in further study and graduate school can augment their knowledge and skills by taking an honours option. This involved taking two six credit courses in addition to the 120 credits required for the basic four-year degree. The two honours courses are PSYC 5000 Honours Thesis I (BAA)/ PSYC 5001 Honours Thesis I (BA) and PSYC 5010 Honours Thesis II. The honours option can be taken during or after the fourth year. It can also be taken subsequent to graduation.

To B.A. (Psyc) students:
Students are encouraged to take the CMNS3100 offered this summer. It can be used as an Arts elective even though it is not an Arts course.
